Products That Are Keeping Me Sane Right Now

This is the perfect time for people to check out new things. Change up the norm. I’m sharing some of my favorite products right now with you guys - one of them isn’t new, but the other three are!

1. Good JuJu Herbal

THIS SKINCARE LINE IS EVERYTHING. I wish I could shout this from the rooftops. I've had acne since I was a teenager...I tried everything from a dermatologist, proactive, drug store cleansers, etc. Did I start using this skincare because the owner is my friend? yes. Do I continue to use this skincare because she's my friend? no. I continue to use it because HOLY ****, it's the only thing that works. Not only has this been a miracle for my acne but it has helped keep my eczema at bay.

Here's a few of my favorite things:

·      Chamomile & Clay Face Soap

·      Organic Rose Water Toner - instant face freshener

·      Herbal Skin Food- it's a moisturizer, it's an eye makeup remover, it's an all-natural way to keep my lashes long and healthy

·      Lavender & Poppy Body Soap - the natural exfoliation in this bar is amazing

·      Essential Salve - not only does this work wonders on my eczema patches, but I also apply it after I get tattoos to help with the healing process!

Honestly - I want to list every item on her Etsy site.... do yourself a favor and look at all of her goodies: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GoodJuJuHerbal

2. Chikondi Coffee

IMG_3665.jpg

I've been drinking coffee for 15+ years so one could say I've had my fair share of different kinds. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorites. During all of this social distancing, one of the things that I miss the most is discovering new coffee shops. So to try and fill that void, I typed in "coffee" in my Instagram search one day and found their page. Not only did the name intrigue me, but so did their logo and their use of colors. It all just seemed bright and happy.

I decided to put an order in for their Moyo Medium Roast (which you can order ground or whole bean). I got it within a couple of days, opened the bag and smelled the fresh coffee beans. I ran to my boyfriend and had him take a whiff of it... he wasn't as excited as I was... but that didn't take away from the amazing aroma that was filling my body. The next morning I brewed my first cup and fell in love. I instantly shared their page on my Instagram and sent it to my coffee loving friend. As of right now, this is the only coffee you'll see me drinking for a while. I've placed another order of multiple bags. Might even join their subscription service. Chikondi forever.

3. Produce Boxes

Yup. These things are awesome. My coworker was talking about going to pick up her box of produce after work and I was sucked in. A box of produce? You don't have to go to the grocery store and get overwhelmed by all of the options? It's only $25? Sign. Me. Up. She sent me a link to the farm that she was ordering from and told me that Sunday is when you order the box and then you pick up the following Friday. Ok Cool. BUT THEN she also told me that the NC State Farmer's Market also had produce boxes that you can pick up from their location. Lee's Produce NC had such an easy online ordering system - create your own box, minimum of $25 and free pick up @ the farmers market- ON THE SAME DAY. This is such a great way to support our local farms and eat healthy while staying quarantined.

4. Sugaring

Also baking things more often… a different kind of “sugaring” …. lol

Also baking things more often… a different kind of “sugaring” …. lol

May or may not be TMI. I've been getting Brazilians for the last 4 years and the salons being closed is really cramping my style. For those who have ever waxed anything (legs, armpits, etc) - you know that shaving after it is really bad for you...  the razor burn, ingrown potential, messing up the hair growth cycles. So I did some research and found out about this thing called Sugaring. It's a more natural hair removal technique made of sugar, water and lemon juice. I found a sugaring paste on Amazon, YouTubed some "how to" videos  and voila! Ladies- if you find yourself in the same boat... Try it!!
