Hi.

Welcome to my blog where I make lists about things that I care about. I hope you enjoy :)

30 Things I've Learned, Pt 3.

30 Things I've Learned, Pt 3.

21. Take accountability

I don’t know what else to say about this one. Take accountability for your actions. It will help yourself and everyone else around you.

22. Don’t rush things

Taking a pause before answering your telephone. Recognizing that being in the moment is something that we don’t need to take for granted. We don’t get this time back!

23. Stability is scary but also weirdly calming

I have been having a constant battle about buying a house. I feel like I shouldn’t have because that means I’m stuck… but ya know what? I also feel like being “stuck” is something that my ass has needed to be. My life hasn’t ever been stable, so it’s about time I have some in my life.

24. Routines help relieve anxiety

My fiance makes fun of me because I do certain things when I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed at night. Little does he know, those small routines help to keep me sane and not get on his last nerves.

25. Everyone is just making educated guesses at life

THIS IS ADULTING IN A NUTSHELL. No one knows what is best. We are all just doing the best that we can (some of us are better than others lol). We’ve all heard that there isn’t a handbook on how to live life… that’s because everyone is just guessing as they go along and hoping for the best outcome.

26. Be mindful

Mindfulness is a continuing practice. It gets easier with time, but we all need to work at it. Being aware of your different senses. Being aware of other people’s feelings. Being aware of your intention for things that you do and say. Being mindful is something that will help you get far in life. One of my favorite mindfulness activities to ground myself is practicing the 5,4,3,2,1 method. Notice 5 things you can see. 4 things you can touch. 3 things you can hear. 2 things you can smell. 1 thing you can taste. This is a very effective anxiety relieving technique. Another one is planting your feet on the ground, placing your hands on top of your thighs, closing your eyes, noticing how your body is feeling (one limb at a time) and taking deep breaths.

27. Speak your mind, respectfully

I have to work on this one daily… so I don’t have a lot to report on this one… ha. Just remember to hold your tongue and to be impeccable with your words.

28. Eat that chocolate

Yeah I said it. I’m giving you permission. If you want to try it, try it. Just be *mindful* of how much you’re eating it. Don’t deprive yourself of the food that you enjoy just because you don’t want to gain weight. Moderation is key. I’m by no means an expert at this, because I definitely overindulge every now and then haha but it’s all about practicing & learning!

29. Boundaries can be adjusted

As we’re growing, we can change our relationships with people… and we don’t need to feel bad about it. I am working on this point every single day with individuals in my life. It’s hard, but man is it relieving.

30. All that you can do, is all that you can do

I haven’t finished this since September 2021. All I can do, is all that I can do. I have had so many different things going on in my life that I haven’t been able to comfortably sit and write something that I felt like I could share with the world. I have been repeating this mantra many times a day to help keep myself sane. I hope that you all can lend yourself some grace when you feel like you aren’t performing at your best.

Now that I have been able to actually get my fingers typing something that isn’t school or work related- I have a weight lifted off of my chest and I can’t wait to provide more <3

xx,

Linsey
